Learning in Retirement has been a welcome addition to intellectual life in Elliot Lake. With modest fees, no compulsory attendance and no academic requirements, students of all ages can attend workshops at their own pace. Learning in Retirement instructors are all retirees themselves and bring vast knowledge and experiences to all subjects taught. Subjects offered include Native Studies, Computers, Astronomy, Elementary French, Current Affairs, Philosophy and Creative Writing. The group is always willing to accommodate other topics if there is sufficient interest among members.
